It’s not like you don’t know how to stop. You just keep going because it’s harder to start over again. The more you procrastinate and put things off, the harder it is for you to leave the comfort of your misery.

It’s not like you don’t know how to stop. Everyday, you stay outside a little longer to watch the sky, basking in the temporary happiness when the sun smiles back at you. Other days, you know it is fine to spend a few minutes more to greet and feed the stray cats on your way home. You don’t beat yourself meeting up with friends when you know there is still a long list of to-do’s waiting for you.

You know how to stop when you need to reply with a meme to friends every time they say something funny; when your favorite artists drop a new song; or when you just want to stay still, feel nothing, think nothing.

You know how to stop, for a moment. You know this too shall pass.

You know how to stop, but how many more pauses do you have to take for you to be able to breathe again?
